The 2008 archery classes have begun and we are accepting all applicants with basic knowledge of bow shooting. Our archery range is open to the general public and we encourage all those who are looking to improve their archery techniques to schedule a meeting with our head archery instructor to obtain more information on our programs. We thoroughly cover the basics of bow tuning and equipment selection and offer tips on how to shoot field archery and steep angle shots. The archery course consists of 30 targets and 10 3d virtual targets. We have restrooms and bow racks that can accommodate any size bow. The practice range has a fixed shooting stake line that offers distances of up to 100 yards. We have ample parking and an eating area with pop machines and snacks. If your a busy person and need to get some practice in we also have a kids playground with lots of fun things to do. One you have learned the safety and basic techniques of archery and are looking learn a more advanced skill set we offer certified NFAA one on one private archery instruction. Advanced shooting skill and stabilization techniques can be taught by our advanced archery instructors and the classes can be tailored to your schedule. We would like to assist you in improving your archery talents and become ready for any competition. If you would like to join in on a private session we can have special activities set up for up to 4 people and go to a location of your choice. Our archery teachers will also provide you with invaluable insight into the sport of archery and what choices in equipment are right for you based on your body height and weight and eye dominance the instructor will be able to accurately point you in the right direction whether your wanting to purchase a compound bow or perhaps a longbow.

Join the Bear Mountain archery league and shoot bow in our indoor archery range. We have range targets and full 3d setups that include various animals and virtual outdoor environments. We run 5 person teams and you can pick your team mates, prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. We have organized the tournaments to allow everyone a chance of winning no matter what your archery skill level is. You can register for the Bear Mountain archery league online or at our archery facility on Friday nights. All archers are required to bring their own archery gear and just to note we will not permit the use of broadhead arrows. Please respect the policies and regulations which will be issues upon joining the archery league. No archers will be allowed to walk up to the targets to retrieve arrows and return to the shooting line for any reason. Any archer who continually shoots at a target will be disqualified without warning.

For those adults looking for a challenge and have had experience in archery before please join our adult archery club to learn high level archery skills taught by professional level 3 archery coaches. Inexperienced archers must take part in our beginners archery lessons and prove their understanding of basic archery techniques and fundamentals. The main emphasis during our archery classes will be on form and balance while shooting from a minimum of 50 meters. If you want to become a archery club member it is imperative that you provide your own archery supplies and equipment. Those joining in our level one and two programs will have access to club archery gear that must be returned at the end of each lesson in order to get your deposit back. We really look forward to hosting this years adult archery tournament where the grand prize winner will be awarded an Excalibur compound hunting bow and second place prize will be 200$. At the North Wood archery camp we teach our students the fundamentals of archery and we have a Level 3 archery coach who will be supervising the special archery activities. 3 days a week there will be shooting lessons for beginners and also an evening archery class for those archers who are more proficient at shooting bow. Archery techniques and safety will also be covered in great detail during your summer camp archery class. Our instructors will provide all of the archery gear and supplies that will be required. The camp is meant strictly target shooting and although previous years we did allow the use of broadhead arrows and recurve bows they are now strictly prohibited on the archery camp grounds. During the class each archer will be asked demonstrate their shooting skill to as a lesson in shooting under pressure and managing stability and balance while shooting. Upon completion of the classes the students will receive level one badges and the opportunity to enroll in the next series of archery classes.

Archers get a lot of practice and shooting time in our classes and also get to compete in a archery tournament near the end of the program. We have 4 archery instructors in our school and each have a very unique style of teaching how to shoot bow. This makes it easy for us to train our students and understand their strengths and weaknesses. Making it through our 3rd year of classes has been a great achievement and there are always new faces coming through the door who are eager to learn archery. If you attend our archery school you will be taught the basics at first starting with understanding how to prepare and take good care of your archery equipment and then how to maintain balance ans stabilization while shooting. Classes are 2 hour sessions of one on one training and are 3 days a week of your choosing. You must apply for registration before August 19th because availability is limited.
